My Approach
I have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in Canada, as well as a Masters in Counselling through Monash University in Australia, and a Bachelors Degree in Nursing from the University of Calgary in Canada.

I have worked with clients in both Canada and Hong Kong who have experienced a broad range of issues including anxiety, depression, grief and loss, post-traumatic stress, unplanned pregnancy, parenting issues, marital challenges, post-affair recovery, and addiction. I have completed level 2 of Gottman Method Couples Therapy, externships in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for Individuals and Couples, and have training in several other therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectic Behaviour Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.

As a counsellor, I work from a client-centred, collaborative, holistic approach. I meet people where they are at with compassion, understanding, and non-judgment and invite tears and laughter into our sessions. My goal is to create a trusting environment where we can discuss and explore thoughts, emotions and behaviours and together, make sense of the challenges my clients are facing. I believe the brain, body, and mind are interconnected and that healing involves

working on all three of these areas and I encourage my clients to slow down and experience their emotions in a deeper way than they may have in the past.

One of my passions is working with individuals and couples who are experiencing difficulties in their relationships. Our connection with others is vital to our mental well-being but at times, our relationships become challenging and we need help working through them. Our connection and attachment with our primary caregiver when we are young influences and affects how we respond and attach with others as adults. Sometimes our relationship struggles may be rooted in our family of origin and we don't know it until we
discuss and examine our earlier relationships. Sometimes as we work through issues from our childhood, we are able to heal wounds from our past.
I love working with people as they delve into their life experiences, explore their current challenges, and discover ways to work through their difficulties. It is one of my greatest joys when clients learn something new about themselves or are able to see things in a different way that helps them to grow or brings them peace of mind. We are all works in progress and my ultimate hope as a counsellor is to help my clients become the person they want to be!
